A Thousand Bright Tomorrows plays energetic and passionate brand of alternative rock with metal and punk influences. The band was formed in the spring of 2007 in Tampere, a mid-sized town in Finland with a blooming underground music scene.
Even if the individual members of the band have a huge number of musical influences, the most important ones when laying the cornerstones of A Thousand Bright Tomorrows' sound were probably such bands as Rise Against, Boysetsfire and Thrice. Following in the footsteps of these socially conscious bands, A Thousand Bright Tomorrows' lyrics also try to tackle issues beyond the usual boy-meets-girl-boy-loses-girl themes. Even if the musicians do not feel comfortable being clumped under a single unifying political banner, the lyrics often touch upon important universal themes such as freedom of speech and thought, as well as social consequences of our everyday actions.
A Thousand Bright Tomorrows recorded three new songs in September 2008, with Janne Putkisaari (Medeia/Pofony) handling the recording, mixing and co-producing duties. One of the new songs, Diamonds, can now be heard on the band's MySpace page. The band's plans for the spring 2010 are pretty much just to play gigs, gigs and more gigs as well as write more songs for an ever-expanding audience.
